A CHRISTMAS WISH
(For JJ and Allie)

My wish each Christmas is for snow
And peace on Earth for all mankind
It is the same again this year
But another gift I hope I find

I pray each day to open my mail
And find an answer to my prayers
To tell me everything's okay
And I can dry away my tears

I pray each night that you are well
That soon you will come home
And once again we can share our days
And all the places that you roam

To hear the stories of your land
And of the people you hold dear
To know that when I need a friend
I always can come here

Three long months have now passed
And still I continue to pray
That God will keep you in his care
And bring you back someday

I cannot light the medicine fire
I don't know how it's done
But in my heart the fire burns bright
A light to guide you home

So on this Christmas day I'll come
To see if my wish came true
And on my computer I will find
A message sent from you
