TO A MATE
Where ever we go; whatever we do,
Whatever wind, we choose to ride,
We’ll have shared some precious moments true,
And a special friendship born in pride
We will ride the river where ere she wends,
With our private thoughts and dreams,
For something in the souls of absent friends,
From a lost companion love redeems
We will ride the river both you and I,
For as long as the river flows,
And I need not offer a reason why,
For the Great Spirit already knows
That our thoughts aloft where Eagles fly
Are united where an orchid grows.
