WTC: GOODBYE

A single Red Engine. Casket draped by our Flag
Silent people on the streets make the sign of the cross
Small boys stand at attention, women wipe tears,
Men with a lump in their throat, little girls hug daddies tighter
Twin aerial ladders, booms extended to form an Arch
Long line of Engines and Ladder Trucks and Snorkels
Honor Guard dressed in Black Dress uniforms. Black ribbons on badges
Silent gathering, Lords Prayer, 23rd Psalm recited.
Single Bagpiper playing Amazing Grace
Lone Bugler plays Taps for the Last Time
No more to answer Help's Pleading Call
No more to risk his life that others may live.
He's home now! Asleep in the arms of his Lord
